The All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, has invited applications for an entrance examination to be held on June 1 for admission to the first year MBBS course commencing in August.
Students who have passed Plus Two or any equivalent examinations with physics, chemistry, biology and English with a minimum of 60 per cent marks (50 per cent for Scheduled Caste-SC and Scheduled Tribe-ST students) in aggregate and those expecting results of the qualifying examination by mid-July are eligible to apply. The applicants should have attained the age of 17 as on December 31, 2007.
The prospectus-cum-application form costs Rs. 500 (Rs. 400 for SC/ST students). It includes examination fee. Forms will be distributed through select branches of the State Bank of India between January 3 and February 15. In Kerala, these can be had from the bank's main branches on Mahatma Gandhi Road, Thiruvananthapuram; Calvethy, Kochi; K.K. Road, Kottayam; and Dharmodayam Building, Thrissur. The forms can be obtained by speed or registered post by sending a written request with an account payee bank draft for Rs. 550 (Rs. 450 for SC/ST students) in the name of AIIMS - MBBS - 2007 payable at New Delhi. It must reach the Assistant Controller of Examinations, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Ansari Nagar, New Delhi - 110 029 on or before February 15. The cover should be super-scribed "REQUEST FOR APPLICATION FORM FOR AIIMS - MBBS ENTRANCE EXAMINATION 2007."
The last date for the receipt of completed applications is February 23, by 5 p.m.
